Well folks, it’s that time again when I have the sad duty of informing you that this most exquisite and delicious coffee, the Colombia La Florida, is nearly gone.
Part of me wants to hoard this coffee and keep you in the dark…because I love it so very much…it is one of the most magical and beautiful coffees I have ever had the pleasure to taste, and to roast. But part of the thrill of having coffee this is good is, of course, sharing it.

Costa Rica La Mirella Perla Negra

The term Perla Negra or “Black Pearls” is inspired by the visual delight of seeing natural sun-dried coffee cherries drying on raised beds. For Oscar Chacon and Francisca Cubillo Salas, the idea of doing a Fully Natural Processed coffee from their award winning La Mirella farm should have come with some hesitation, fear, or even scorn. Costa Rica Montes de Cristo

We are releasing the other two Costa Rican micro lots this week, Montes de Cristo is probably the very best washed organic coffee to come out of Costa Rica this year.
Montes de Cristo is a micro mill in San Juan de Naranjo, in the West Valley region of Costa Rica. Owned by Carmen Campos, the mill processes only her own farm’s coffee cherries, all of which are from Caturra variety trees. The farm is situated on sloping hills ranging in elevation from 1300-1650 meters. The Campos family is rightfully proud ... more after the jump
