Global Coffee Prices Impact Us All
Dear Olympia Coffee Community,
Effective January 1, 2025, we'll be making some adjustments to our pricing structure. This change will affect base prices on select coffees, which in turn may impact pricing for our wholesale partnerships and recurring coffee subscribers. However, pricing for our 2lb and 5lb options will remain unchanged.
In particular, 12oz bag sizes for the following coffees will see a price increase of $0.50:
- Big Truck
- Morning Sun
- Little Buddy
- Sweetheart
- Decaf Asterisk
- San Sebastián Reserva
The global coffee market has experienced unprecedented volatility, with the C Market price for coffee reaching historic highs. These increases are driven by challenges like adverse weather conditions in key coffee-producing regions, supply shortages, and rising production costs.
At Olympia Coffee, we remain steadfast in our commitment to our Fair For All sourcing standards, which ensure that every coffee we purchase supports a living wage for producers and their communities. This dedication to equitable practices is a cornerstone of our business and reflects our belief in coffee as a force for good.
Additionally, our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices is demonstrated through our Living Wage for the U.S. program and our B Corporation Certification, which hold us accountable to the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility. These values guide every decision we make, including this necessary price adjustment.
Why we’re adjusting prices:
- Record-high C Market prices for green coffee.
- Increased production and logistics costs.
- Continued investment in sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.
We understand that price changes can be concerning, so please know that this decision was made after careful consideration. Maintaining fairness for our producers and excellence in our coffee remains at the heart of what we do.
We are proud to maintain the value and integrity of our offerings while leaving the prices for 2- and 5-lb options unaffected, giving our customers more flexible choices.
