Welcome Oliver's Custom Coffee as Olympia Coffee's Reserve Line
I’ve been working in coffee for over 30 years, the last fifteen of which I’ve been sourcing coffees for Olympia Coffee. Coffee has changed a lot. For one thing, quality is on the rise, thanks to increased demand for premium coffee and improved production practices and education. There’s been no better day to enjoy a cup of coffee in history.
About 4 years ago I started becoming a Q Processor, a certification that links post-harvest processing to flavor and quality in the cup. The Q Processing program teaches the skills to deliberately influence these factors. One year ago I achieved my accreditation as a Q Processor Professional and began processing my coffee cherries purchased from farmers I know and trust. This also means I get to take on all risks of quality through processing—a challenge that also allows me more control over the final flavors in the cup. Now, I have the freedom to craft precise flavor profiles through both processing and roasting.
This gave us the opportunity at Olympia Coffee to build an entire menu out of these “custom processed” lots. So, in January 2024, we launched Oliver’s Custom Coffee: a new line of coffees that are sourced, processed, and roasted to our own bespoke standards to create world-exclusive coffees.
Now, another evolution is taking place. We are excited to offer Oliver’s Custom Coffee as Olympia Coffee's reserve line. Nothing gives us more joy than sharing cutting-edge coffee quality with our customers. Now, as part of Olympia Coffee, we’re bringing these custom coffees to a wider audience.
