Flavors of citrus, peach, and floral
Halo Bariti is one of the newest cooperatives in Ethiopia, having only been in existence since 2012. The members of Halo used to be a part of the larger Worka Cooperative This area of Worka is extraordinarily remote and undeveloped, meaning most farmers have more land under their control than further north in Sidama, Yirgacheffe, or Kochere.

We often attribute higher elevation, and it's slower development of coffee fruit, with sweeter and brighter coffees, and the area where Halos located is the highest altitude cultivation area in the entire country of Ethiopia. The result is some of the most stunning Ethiopian offerings we've had a chance to try.

We discovered this specific lot while in Ethiopia with our partners at the YCFCU, (Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union) and with Royal Coffee Importers. We cupped through dozens of weekly lots from Halo to find our favorites. This lot stood above the rest of Halo Bariti's offerings because of it’s abundance of sweetness and clarity of flavors. We were proud to offer them more than triple Fair Trade Pricing as a part of our Fair For All standards.
