Huila Colombia June 2013

  This was my first visit to San Sebastian de la Plata in Huila, Colombia, an area that Olympia Coffee has been purchasing coffee from and visiting every year for the last four years.  Seeing it first hand I was struck by the beauty of the landscape, how massive the country is and how small the farms are.  Most of the farms we work with are only two hectares (about 5 acres) in size, with most of the work being done by the family that owns the farm.  We work with a handful of farms using a transparent buying program...

Public Cupping Series Travels To Seattle

As many of you know we host public cuppings in our roastery cupping lab each week on Friday's at 10am. Every few weeks we take our cupping series on the road as well. We have held public cuppings at our wholesale partners cafes in locations such as Port Townsend and Seattle so far this year!  On May 17th we will do it again with our espresso machine partners La Marzocco. New Location Capitol Blvd Now Open!

  We are excited to announce that our third café in the historic Wildwood Building on Capitol Boulevard, will open at 6:30am this Thursday, March 28th. Built in 1938, the Wildwood Building is a charming time piece located at the intersection of four Olympia neighborhoods. The building is home to Spuds Produce Market, Tasha Nichole Desserts and now Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. will be opening its third café at 2824 Capitol Blvd. in Olympia’s historic Wildwood Building in early 2013.  Built in 1938, the Wildwood Building is located at the connection of four Olympia neighborhoods: South Capitol, Wildwood, Governor Stevens, and Carlyon in Olympia, Washington.     The new café will continue Olympia Coffee Roasting Co.’s commitment to the highest standards in coffee brewing, espresso preparation, and customer service.
