Coming soon to our retail and web store shelves...! Launching October 31st, 2023, we here at Olympia Coffee are excited to roll out an updated brand look and feel across our packaging, merchandise, and website.
Meet our new "Seed to Cup" brand package: beginning with a first crop of six newly re-designed coffee bags in a fresh, vibrant color palette.
Created in conjunction with Bogotá-based S&Co., these new bags feature a modern, wrap-around illustration by artist Jonathan Calugi—an homage to the seed-to-cup story so central to Olympia Coffee’s mission and values. Also on display are updated labels (made locally in Olympia by our long-time letterpress printing partner, The Sherwood Press), a new type package, and unique colorways for each of our core offerings: Big Truck, Sweetheart, Morning Sun, Little Buddy, and Decaf Asterisk.
And, to make things even more exciting, this hot-off-the-press redesign has already garnered a little press of its own! As of October 30, 2023, Olympia Coffee’s re-designed packaging was officially nominated as a semifinalist in the Sprudge Design Awards for Whole Bean Packaging.
Recently re-certified as a B Corporation, this brand refresh originated from an initiative to simplify our labeling system and reduce waste. By consolidating two labels’ worth of information to a single front label and utilizing imagery alongside text, we're able to effectively use the canvas of our sustainably-made coffee packaging to accomplish more with less. Along with improved storytelling opportunities, streamlined production, and reduced paper waste, the refresh also infuses a burst of vitality and character into the visual scheme for our growing brand—which hadn't seen a redesign in five years.
Currently, you can find our redesigned packaging across all our 12oz. coffee offerings, including our evergreen signature coffees and rotating single-origin micro lots. Look for the brand refresh to roll out in coming days and weeks across the remainder of our packaging system, including retail shopping bags and large-format coffee bags, as well as across merchandise and online.
